  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or email us directly at contact@highlandedit.com—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way. We offer new customers a 500-word sample edit to demonstrate what we can do for you.

  • We provide a free, 500-word sample edit to every new customer. Our rates are 3 cents per word for copyediting and 2 cents per word for proofreading, with a $10 order minimum. Contact us if you wish to negotiate rates for longer, complex, or unique works.

  • We typically edit documents within three days; short documents may be faster. If you need rush service, please let us know and we can work out an additional fee depending on the size of the project and the speed required.

  • We accept documents in the Microsoft suite (Word, etc.), Google suite (Docs, etc.), or as PDFs. Please contact us if you have special requirements regarding file types.

  • No. All of our editing is done by professional humans, which ensures that we do not insert any content into your manuscript that an AI detector could flag.

  • No. No matter how much we work with you to edit your manuscript, you retain full copyright to the entire work.
